The results of this year's Epson Pano Awards are a bit disappointing for me. My images did not make it into the top 50 of the amateur categories. My best-scoring image "bridge over troubled water" reached 81st place in the Nature/Landscape category. In the Built Environment category I reached 55th place with the image "Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia" and 71st place with the image "the castle above the sea of fog". Other images did not make it into the top 100. The images "bridge over troubled water" and "solitude" received silver awards, and eight other images received bronze awards. A total of around 2,100 images were submitted in the amateur categories. My congratulations go to all the winners and top 50 finishers, especially to my friend Markus van Hauten, who took second place in the landscape category!
The Epson Pano Awards were founded by Australian landscape photographer David Evans and have been held annually since 2009 with the support of Epson Australia. Images with a minimum 2:1 aspect ratio (long side: short side) are eligible to take part.
